Love is... the most fulfilling kind of hard work. Sometimes it can come as easily as breathing, but in the times that you actually have to try, the pay off is usually that much better. Just letting someone love you doesn't feel nearly as worth it as when you put in your own 100%.
Being in love feels like... that feeling I get when boyfriend brings my toothbrush with toothpaste already on it to wherever I am because it is officially time to "brush teefs" together so that we can nest in the cocoon of softness.
My favorite quote about love is... the first thing that came to mind is the opening part of Love Actually:
"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspicion... love actually is all around."
I totally want to watch that now.
The most important thing in a relationship is... communication and the ability to laugh. So many little things can go so horribly wrong if there isn't enough communication.... and sometimes when things do go horribly wrong, the best thing to do is just laugh and let it go. This is something I'm still working on.
A "deal breaker" for me in a relationship is... dishonesty. Period.
The way I show love in my relationships is... in the little things. Hugs, positive remarks, planning and spending quality time together, having meaningful conversations, random acts of kindness like straightening boyfriend's apartment while he is at work, and always "coming home to each other" at the end of the day- even if its just on the phone- so that we can reconnect and feel included in each others' day.
I love... that boyfriend of mine with the smart brain who will be studying for finals all weekend for classes that have names that make my head hurt... like differential equations and calculus III. Ouch. Send good vibes his way that his brain powers on with the fervor of 10,000 hungry hippos and he blows these tests out of the water.
I have so many projects swirling around in my head that I'm going to try to get accomplished while I have some time to myself. I foresee lots of gift buying and sewing in my future!
